Raise your hand if you believe this statement: “I’m running late, I spilled my coffee, someone cut me off in traffic and I’m so mad! Ugh, I’ll get over it, there’s no way I’d go to God about these stupid little things.”

Woah, my friend… Who told you that God doesn’t care about the little things? Who told you that he doesn’t have time for those things that bother you that seem so small? They aren’t stupid. That makes me sad that people believe that. It simply is not true. Don’t believe me? Let’s take a look at what the bible says:

Let’s start small… Children.

In Mark 10:13-14 People brought their small children to Jesus so that he could lay hands on them to bless them. But the followers told the people to stop bringing their children to him. Jesus saw what happened. He did not like his followers telling the children not to come. So he said to them, “Let the little children come to me. Don’t stop them, because God’s kingdom belongs to people who are like these little children.

Let’s break this down.

When little kids are upset about something, they go to their parents. They don’t think “oh this is too small, let me not burden them with being upset that my milk spilled on the floor”. No! They go to their parents, and guess what. Their parents help them/ teach them how to clean up the mess, and get them a new glass of milk.

God is our Father. He made us in his image; which means that if we (as parents) are wanting to be there to take care of ANYTHING bothering our little ones, God also wants to take care of ANYTHING bothering us.. He says it himself, he wants people running to him like a child! They have no agenda, they have faith that their parent is going to take care of them for any reason. We must be the same when we go to our Father.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 This verse is Jesus talking. He doesn’t have guidelines on what makes you burdened to come to Him. He doesn’t say, “come to me except…” No! If it is bothering you, then He wants to be there for you.

It’s all about having a relationship with Him.

So, if you didn’t do so well on a test and you’re upset, or you have an outdoor activity but rain is in the forecast… Pray for the rain to go away. God hears you. The same way he hears you praying for your marriage, your finances, your loved one’s medical diagnoses (or yours). He hears you.

Just remember: if our prayer is not answered right away, it doesn’t mean to give up.

My Pastor just talked about this: too often we say “Please heal me, but..” Please provide me with more finances but….” as in: “Please heal me if you’re willing, but I know I may not be healed.” Uhhh oops! NO! Stop that, that’s not truly believing that you will be healed. Start saying (out loud): “Please heal me, I BELIEVE.”

I’m guilty of this too. I know that God is more than capable, but it’s easy to make yourself have the belief that you’re not worthy of the healing, or he won’t do it for you. Or you don’t want to lose faith because you don’t see yourself healed in your timing, so you add the “but” into your prayers.

Recently I had an appointment I really needed to make, but it was supposed to be severe weather that day and if you’re in Texas like me, then you know that can mean 1.) Golf ball sized hail 2.) Tornadoes. So I spent the week praying for the storm to be calm enough for me to drive there and back safely. I also asked friends to pray for me too! Not only was the storm calm, but He even opened another day for me to take my test that I didn’t even think was possible. On a beautiful sunny day.

It’s funny looking back on my life. Things that I prayed about 10+ years ago are just now coming to fruition! I can’t wait to talk to ya’ll about it soon, but holy moly! 10+ years ago I had NO IDEA why it wasn’t happening for me then. Feeling sorry for myself and why I was going through what I was going through then. Now fast forward to today, I see it CRYSTAL clear.

I want you to note something here: I never gave up on God. I may have had that dream pushed to the back for a little bit, but that dream never went away. Let me put it into perspective. Just from this one dream (I promise I’ll talk about it soon) if I had accomplished it back then, and not now. I wouldn’t have the drive I have now, the appreciation, I wouldn’t have my husband or kids, or even be in Texas! God orders our steps, and He does it for a reason.

TRUST HIM

Don’t forget: We must also do our part of it too. If your dream is to go back to school, He’ll make a way, but you will have to apply to college, study for tests, and work hard..Etc.. And if you are giving up on a prayer because you don’t feel equipped… God will equip you if that’s what you’re supposed to do. You don’t call the shots, He does.

God hears you, my friend! If God’s got me, God’s got you!
